Lessons now available with normal hands on and also on-line/Zoom

LIVING ALEXANDER ANATOMY September 18th 2021 This afternoon on-line workshop will run from 1:30pm UK time to 4:30pm with Michael Hardwicke and your hosts,
the directors from Hite.
'In this workshop we explore more fully the essential practice of Inhibition and Direction and develop our capacity for these two skills in how we work on ourselves.

'Living Alexander Anatomy' is about connecting to our own structure in a clear way.
This is a real, hands on, find and feel - on ourselves - to increase our ability to connect into our structure.
In my experience our internal structural models (often unconscious) affect the way we use ourselves
and how we set up the background tone and tension in our muscular system.
Often these models create separation and fixing of the structure which is actually more all joined up and dynamic than we allow.
This knowledge can also be helpful for our pupils with respect to their own ability to practice, and how we are then able to convey
the technique with our hands.

In this second LAA workshop we will illuminate the Pelvis and explore not just the Psoas but also the role of the Pyriformis,
both of which often feature in lower back pain.
We will clarify what the Sacrum bone is and show how we can find a good anchor for the way we release up.
We will look at the some of the ligaments, the Inguinal
and it's implication in common Hernias
It's also important to know the hip joint, not just in theory, but to gain a real sense of its axis.
Then, with an understanding of the femur, and this leads on to a real understanding of Alexander's 'knee direction'.
'Knee direction' is often misunderstood and I will show an anatomical way to practice and successfully teach 'knees forward and away'. I will be sharing practices developed in 35 years of the teacher training courses at Fellside and much that I have learned from my primary teacher Don Burton.'
